Why golf at Lac du Bonnet
5 Courses, 30 Minutes
Five distinct courses within a short drive, each with its own character. Play a different course every day of your vacation without repeating.
Canadian Shield Scenery
These aren't flat prairie courses. The Canadian Shield geology gives eastern Manitoba courses real elevation change, granite outcrops, and natural water features you simply can't replicate on the plains.
Affordable Green Fees
Green fees at Lac du Bonnet area courses run significantly less than comparable courses in Winnipeg. Your golf budget stretches further out here.
Uncrowded Fairways
No four-hour waits on every tee box. Even on peak summer weekends, you can typically secure a tee time with a day or two of notice. Play at your own pace.
Courses near Lac du Bonnet
From championship-caliber layouts on the Canadian Shield to welcoming community courses, there's a round for every skill level and budget.
Granite Hills Golf Course
Manitoba’s newest and most spectacular course — carved into Canadian Shield terrain along Lake Lac du Bonnet shores. The layout rewards accuracy over distance with tree-lined fairways, natural rock outcrops framing greens, and views across the lake. Licensed clubhouse with full restaurant and patio overlooking the 18th green. Consistently ranked among eastern Manitoba’s best.
Black Bear Golf Club
Family-friendly 9-hole course with 22 tee boxes, large greens, 4 water hazards, and wide bluegrass fairways. The relaxed atmosphere makes it welcoming for casual golfers while still presenting challenges for experienced players. Licensed dining room on-site.
Pinawa Golf Club
18 holes through mature boreal forest along the Winnipeg River and Pinawa Channel. One of Manitoba’s most scenic courses. The layout features river views on several holes, well-maintained greens, and a design that takes full advantage of the natural terrain. Pinawa’s community is itself worth the drive — tidy, quiet, and surrounded by boreal forest. Year-round restaurant on-site.
Mars Sandhills Golf Course
18 holes set on unique sand and gravel moraine terrain that gives this course a character unlike anything else in the region. The sandy soil provides excellent drainage, meaning you can play shortly after rain. A hidden gem for golfers who want something different from the typical parkland course.
Pine Falls Golf Club
A welcoming 9-hole community course in Pine Falls. The shorter format makes it ideal for an afternoon game when you don’t want to commit to a full 18. Affordable green fees and a relaxed pace of play.

Planning your golf trip
The golf season in eastern Manitoba runs from early May through mid-October, with the warmest conditions in July and August. Late June and September offer pleasant temperatures with fewer bugs and lower demand for tee times.
Most courses don't require advance booking during the week, but weekend mornings at Granite Hills fill up — call a day or two ahead. Power carts are available at all 18-hole courses. Pull carts are common at the 9-hole courses.
If you're staying with us for a week, you can comfortably play three or four different courses without repeating. Start with Granite Hills for the best course in the area, add Pinawa for the river views, and fill in with Black Bear or Pine Falls for a more casual round.
